The sailing team, which also includes members of İzocam senior management, is having a successful season this year. İzocam Sailing Team, sailing the seas with the motto “İzocam is behind sustainable tomorrows”, sails on the seas with the strength of its 5 corporate attitudes.

İzocam, the leading brand which carried its success in the insulation sector to the seas, continues to sail on the seas with the motto of “İzocam is behind the sustainable tomorrows”. İzocam Sailing Team, which consists of professional racers as well as İzocam employees who have received basic sailing training from the Sailmaster team, is having a successful season with its strong team, which also includes members of İzocam senior management. Following the BAYK (Bodrum Offshore Sailing Club) Bodrum Winter Trophy and MIYC (Marmaris International Yacht Club) Marmaris Winter Trophy it participated  in the first half of this year, the İzocam Sailing Team will set sail for the Bosphorous Cup in September and the Presidential Cup in October, thus taking part in a total of 4 trophies and 34 races throughout 2022.

Sailing, an environmentally sensitive sport that utilizes the power (wind) of nature thereby reduces fossil fuel consumption, is a natural sport compatible with İzocam's mission and corporate attitude. İzocam Attitudes, which give

the greatest strength to İzocam's corporate values and guide its way of doing business, consist of 5 main headings: “Being close to our customers”, “Agility”, “Innovativeness”, “Entrepreneurship” and “Creating an open and inclusive culture”. İzocam senior management shared the secret of strengthening team spirit and success by explaining each of these headings topic which are also part of the sailing sport.

İzocam General Director Mr. Murat Savcı: “Life on board supports the entrepreneurial spirit”

İzocam General Director Mr. Murat Savcı, who has been interested in sailing since 2011, is among those who participate in the races with the İzocam Sailing Team. Mr. Savcı recalled that 57 years ago, when İzocam's story began, they defined their purpose of their existence as developing environmentally friendly and sustainable insulation solutions that provide energy saving and comfort, without harming natural resources, and taking into account the safety of life and property. Mr. Savcı continued his speech as follows: “On this path we have set out, we still maintain our feature of being a company that works with the motivation of efficient use of resources, climate change, construction of sustainable structures, energy saving, protecting the environment and improving the quality of life.” The characteristics of the sailing sport is compatible coincide with the said mission and attitudes of İzocam. In cooperation with Sailmaster, we set sail to draw attention to sustainability, the fight against global climate change and the right to a good life. Combined with the sea and the wind, sailing is a sport that strengthens our aspects where we expect the unexpected, develops analytical and strategic thinking, contributes to our motor skills, gives people determination on the way to the goal and supports the spirit of struggle. While sailing, you need to calculate the wind accurately and predict the weather well. Those who do sailing have to process many data at the same time to make an accurate prediction. In this sense, life on a sailing boat strengthens the sense of responsibility and leadership qualities, and also the spirit of 'Entrepreneurship', which is one of the İzocam Attitudes.

Murat Savcı: “Sailing shines a light on our understanding of open and inclusive culture”

İzocam General Director Mr. Murat Savcı, who cares about creating an open and inclusive corporate culture, also drew attention to the fact that sailing, in which all athletes focus on a single goal and everyone performs their duties in the best way throughout the race, strengthens the awareness of being a team. Stating that the strength of a sailing team is determined by the cooperation, quality and innovative approaches of everyone included in the team, Mr. Savcı said, “Solidarity and work-sharing within the team are extremely important in sailing, which combines collaboration and competition. Sailing also strengthens the communication within the team. It is necessary to create a healthy and clear communication language so that duties and responsibilities can be clearly distributed, concerns can be resolved by speaking freely, and the respective action plans can be comprehended by all team members. An open communication environment reinforces mutual trust within the team, and in this way, everyone can conveniently focus on their own work. In the light of the above, the sport of sailing can be said to reflect the real business life very accurately. Sailing, which strengthens the awareness of being a team, shines light on our attitude of 'Creating an Open and Inclusive Culture', which is one of İzocam’s Attitudes that we should create in business life. Results will be achieved successfully when an open and inclusive culture is created within the organization by keeping communication at the forefront.”

Erdal Bozok: “Sailing corresponds to our 'Being Close to Customer’ attitude"

Mr. Erdal Bozok, Sales and Marketing Director of İzocam, stated that sailing is a special sport that requires close communication within the team to achieve steady success, allowing the athletes to develop themselves every time without harming the nature. Mr. Bozok also stated that sailing requires to be in close contact and to show solidarity with other boats that sail on the same route in the event of different weather conditions on the sea. Mr. Bozok continued his speech as follows: “This understanding of success corresponds to the attitude of ‘Being close to the customer’, which is one of our corporate attitudes. Working closely and insight are vital in sailing. İzocam is a brand that acts upon the needs of our dealers and the insight of their customers, and cares about establishing close communication with them. In order to strengthen this attitude, we hosted the employees of İzocam dealers from different provinces on the İzocam sailing boat on June 21st and 23rd. Our sail, which set out from Kalamış, passed through the blue waters of the Marmara Sea and reached Burgazada. Thus, we had the opportunity to experience sailing together. Our sailing team also carried a special message, reinforcing the perception that İzocam is a great team together with its dealers and emphasizing that this team will go ‘together all the way forward’.”

Rüştü Uz: “It is necessary to be open to innovative ideas while at sea”

Mr. Mustafa Rüştü Uz, Technical Support and Product Management Coordinator of İzocam, who took part in the races held within the scope of the BAYK Bodrum Winter Trophy on April 9th-10th, 2022, as part of the the İzocam Sailing Team, drew attention to “Innovativeness”, one of İzocam’s corporate attitudes, and made the following statements in the regard: İzocam has been the leader of the insulation industry for 57 years as a result of the value it attaches to innovation and R&D. We maintain the strength of our brand that can meet all the needs related to insulation by carrying out non-stop R&D studies in order to renew our product range. However, as a company that is aware of the fact that putting the product on the market is not just about the product, we focus on producing rational solutions not only in production, but also in efficient shipping, easy transportation, advantageous storage and easy application of the product. In this sense, 'Innovativeness', which is one of our corporate attitudes, is among our most important criteria in our production stages. Similarly, sailing sport also requires being open to innovative ideas. Being able to evaluate the needs that arise while navigating on the sea with innovative ideas and techniques, and making the right decisions and moving forward carries you to success.”

Ahmet Oruç: “Being on the boat develops the reflex of being agile”

İzocam Investment and Production Director Mr. Ahmet Oruç stated that they were inspired by the “Agility” attitude, one of the corporate attitudes of İzocam, in times of unexpected sudden changes and crises. Mr. Oruç stated that such difficult conditions are commonly encountered during the performance of sailing sport by its nature, as in business life, and said, “The differentiated duties and responsibilities, variables in perceiving these duties, changing roles and the human factor all together, combined with the limited space on a sailing boat, are reflected on the team ecology at any time while on the boat. At such moments, the sailing sport strengthens the reflexes of the athletes as they act agile, adapt to sudden developing conditions with team spirit and make quick decisions in crisis situations. All these exactly correspond 'Agility', another corporate attitude of İzocam.”
