Turkey's largest insulation manufacturer Izocam continues its efforts to meet the needs in the disaster zone after the major earthquake disaster we experienced as a country. Izocam, which donated Foamboard boards, one of the high-strength thermal insulation materials, to be used in tent cities established for the shelter of our citizens whose houses were destroyed or damaged immediately after the earthquakes, has now started production and shipments for mass housing projects in the earthquake zone.
In the statement made by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change after the devastating earthquakes that occurred one after another in Kahramanmaraş; it has been reported that 311 thousand buildings with 872 thousand 59 independent units in 11 provinces have been demolished, the construction of approximately 180 thousand residences and village houses has begun, and approximately 140 thousand residences are at the project stage.
İzocam, the leading brand of the insulation sector, took action to meet the sheltering need, one of the primary needs of our citizens in the disaster zone right after the earthquakes, and determined the right product in the right thickness for the right application that may be needed in tent cities and container cities.
One of the most important measures we need to take in order for our buildings to be earthquake-resistant is thermal insulation applications that are correctly calculated and applied with qualified materials and workmanship. Thermal insulation products particularly protect the carrier system that keeps buildings standing in the event of an earthquake. Correct and qualified thermal insulation applications prevent condensation and moisture formation on the walls in the face of thermal differences. Therefore, we should not forget that insulation applications, which are essential for both the economic development of our country and for us to save energy in our buildings, also have a critical role in the earthquake resistance of our buildings. İzocam contributes to the durability of the buildings, the construction of which were started after the earthquakes, while providing comfort in addition to energy savings with its insulation products designed for the foundation, facade, adjacent walls, roof and installation details in the houses. In addition, İzocam continues its activities without interruption with the aim of providing the production, stock and supply of the products that may be needed, with the aim of providing our citizens with their new residences as quickly as possible. İzocam stands ready in the disaster zone with its team in the field for each project that is planned or started to be constructed, and cooperates with the project sites and carries out joint meetings with the projects, contractors and implementing companies so that these works will increasingly continue at all construction sites. İzocam, the leading brand, strives to provide the best service to each individual who needs shelter after the earthquakes by making all the necessary plans with the coordination team it has established in order to deliver the insulation materials it produces to the region in a timely manner.
Within the scope of these works, 1400 m3 of İzocam Foamboard, high-strength extruded polystyrene (XPS) thermal insulation board, have been used on the terrace roofs and 16.700 m2 of İzocam Kalibel Glass Wool product have been used on the adjacent walls of 849 housing projects carried out by the joint venture of Polen İnşaat and Dibay İnşaat in Diyarbakır Bağlar district.
İzocam Foamboard provides the comfort conditions needed by the building occupants with minimum energy costs, with its ease-of-use, light-weight and water-proof features, in addition to the thermal insulation it provides with its high compression strength.
İzocam Kalibel, which is used for sound and heat insulation on adjacent walls, is a glass wool board covered with plasterboard on one side, allowing the application of both glass wool and plasterboard at the same time. Thus, by shortening the on-site application time and increasing the efficiency of the workforce, İzocam Kalibel stands out as a non-flammable, fast and easy-to-apply product that does not require accessories, protects the walls against mold and moisture, and offers light and uninterrupted comfort. İzocam Kalibel, produced in European standards with its EUCEB (EUropean CErtification Board for mineral wool products) certificate and certified to be harmless to human health, not only contributes to sound insulation in buildings, but also supports thermal comfort.
Emphasizing that insulation is a must for earthquake-resistance, durability and comfortable life, İzocam states that the last earthquake disaster we experienced once again reminded us of the importance of durable buildings in overcoming disasters. In the meetings with all public and private companies, i.e., contractors, consultants, and employers, İzocam states that qualified insulation products and applications, which should be used in terms of energy saving, also contribute to the long-term durability of buildings. İzocam continues its efforts to enable our citizens affected by the earthquakes to settle in their homes quickly and to continue their lives in durable buildings under appropriate comfort conditions.
